POLISH CANADIAN ASSOCIATION OF CALGARY

When was your organization created?

November 15, 1931

What is the main goal of your organization?

The main goal of the Polish Canadian Association of Calgary is to preserve and to promote Polish culture, traditions and our language in Calgary and area

Over the course of your history, what is your organization most proud of?

Since our beginnings, over 90 years ago, the organization has been a leading force in integrating the Polish community in Calgary.  Initially on our own, and later with the assistance of the Polish Combatants in Canada, Branch #18, Calgary, we have built, owned, and maintained the Polish Canadian Cultural Centre in Northeast Calgary as a welcoming meeting place for the Alberta’s Polish diaspora as well as a public facility open to all Calgarians. It would be difficult to imagine Calgary’s Polish community without the Polish Canadian Cultural Centre as a meeting place. We are very proud of this.
