About Me

Magda Galicka-Zablotni was born in Poland and grew up in Warsaw in a family of intellectuals (her father was an architect and her mother was an art historian). Well-known artists were often her parents’ guests, which undoubtedly had an influence on her sensitivity to beauty and interest in art. Magda studied art history at the Catholic University of Lublin. She currently lives in Canmore in the Rocky Mountains, the ideal environment for her passion for alpine skiing and artistic inspiration. She works at the Alliance Française of Calgary as a French Language Teacher. Magda started to paint in 2016 as an antidote to a difficult transition in her life. This became the source of her painting inspiration, along with nature and her travels across the world. In 2017 she had an exhibition at Cspace in Calgary.

Painting is her hobby and she encourages everyone who experiences difficult life transitions to explore their artistic side. Like she says: we’ve all got it!
